The Art of Skilful Living
“Wisdom is the art of living skillfully in whatever actual conditions we find ourselves.”
I used to have this quote written out and pinned to my wall. I carried it around with me for years. I’m pretty sure it’s packed away in a box somewhere.
The quote was something I lived by and it took on new meaning at different stages of my life. Whether it was managing finances, or making decisions regarding my career, relationships or otherwise, the quote was a great mantra.
We don’t all start off at the same point and as cliche, as it may sound, and as much as it resembles meritocracy, I find it somewhat pragmatic, if not stoic, to assess the best course of action given the actual circumstances I find myself in.
