We’re So Early

'We're so early'; a sentiment often expressed in the web3 space which is invariably followed by other positive sentiments like 'We're all going to make it’ -WAGMI.

These feel-good statements highlight a general attitude that being involved in this new industry as early as we are, will give us an unfair advantage over those who are still stuck in the backwards world of web2.

I don't buy this hyper-positive hype. It’s no accident that many of the most successful companies operating in the web3 space are those that have leaders with roots in web2.

Let's not be too quick to throw the baby out with the bath water.

It's more likely that decades of experience in technology, product/service design, digital marketing, and good business acumen, are still going to be worth a whole lot more than a few years using a crypto wallet, minting JPEGs and shit posting on Twitter.

Invest time in the skills that aren't so easy to come by, because it isn't enough to just be early.
